General Information

What can I expect?

Aalto Community is a safe and clean environment to experience communal contrast therapy. For one hour at a time, you get to move through Sauna & Ice baths however you like.

  • Traditional 12-person sauna sitting between 80-90°C.
  • Individual ozone-filtered ice plunge pools kept constantly at 8°C.
  • Open hot and cold showers to rinse off. With complimentary body wash to clean down post session.
  • Private change rooms with individual lockers.
  • A lounge space to meet or before or after your session with complimentary tea.
  • Water readily available to keep you hydrated throughout your session.
  • Surround sound audio system.
Do I need to be fit or skilled to try a class?

The best thing about contrast therapy is no experience or level of fitness is needed.

Come with an open mind and follow our guidelines if it is your first time!

I left an item behind. Do you have a lost and found?

Yes! We have a lost and found. So, feel free to return and check for your belongings.

Every four weeks we donate anything that has not been claimed.

Do I need a reservation, or can I walk in?

All sessions must be booked and paid for in advance, either via the Aalto Community website or mobile app; which is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

What do I need to bring and/or wear?

Please bring a towel to dry down after your session and a water bottle to stay hydrated. There are complimentary towels in the sauna. If you forget a towel, we offer them for rent at the front desk.

Please wear comfortable bathers or activewear.

How long are the sessions?

Your session starts on the hour and is for a duration of 60 minutes. If you run late for the start of your session, it still ends at the end of that hour. You unfortunately cannot stay into the next session as the space is designed to hold 10 people comfortably.

Are there age limits?

Contrast therapy is best experienced as a family!

People aged 16 years or older can book and move through the space without a parent or guardian.

Those younger than 16 need to book in the same session as a parent or guardian.

Bookings and Memberships

How much does it cost?

Benefits from contrast therapy are best developed from consistent use. So, the best option is an unlimited weekly membership for $60.00. A casual pass drop-in is $35.00. We also offer 5-pass packs for $150.00

Are the saunas single-sex or communal?

Aalto Community provide a communal public sauna where everyone is welcome.

What is the cancellation period for a membership?

Please provide written notice that you wish to cancel your membership to hello@aaltocommunity.com.au. We ask for a 2-week notice if you plan to cancel. Once we get your email, we’ll send you a cancellation form to fill out, along with the date of your final payment.

What are late cancel and no-show fees?

To ensure fair access to our facilities, Aalto Community has the following policies:

  • Drop-In Users: If you cancel less than 6 hours before your booking or don’t show up, you’ll be charged $30 or lose your credit.
  • Members: If you cancel within 6 hours of your booking or don’t show up, there’s a $10 fee. This helps keep things fair, so everyone has a chance to book a session.
Can I buy a gift card?

Gift cards can be purchased through booking on a laptop or computer through our website.

If you have any issues contact us and we can help sort you out!

Sauna & Cold Plunge Guidelines

What should I bring into the sauna?

Wear your comfiest bathers and don’t forget a water bottle to stay hydrated. Most importantly, come with an open mind and be ready to get hot and cold.

We don’t recommend bringing watches, phones, and headphones into the sauna as they may overheat. If you bring your phone, leave it on the lower benches where it’s cooler (but still at your own risk). We have the time on display, so you know how long you are in the sauna or cold plunge for.

Remove all jewellery, as metal can get hot and burn your skin.

How long should I stay in the sauna?

We recommend around 15 minutes per session.

You can shorten your session based on personal comfort.

Want to know more about our cold plunge?

Our cold plunges are proudly Australian made by Fjord. Utilising an oversized 50sqft filter built for commercial volumes and a three-stage system combining ozone, UV, and high- capacity filtration to ensure crystal-clear water.

Do you have a designated time for quiet sessions?

At this stage, we do not offer a quiet-only sessions.

Aalto encourages the connection and sense of community with phones encouraged to be left with your belongings.
